SCR PRO can jump after tune?

We are Smithmaster Co., Ltd., a company that has developed and is currently exporting the RC car “Smithmaster” to countries such as the United States, Canada, and France. Today, we would like to introduce a video review by a YouTuber named “RC79”

SCR PRO can jump after tune?

He said that this time, he tuned the vehicle to push its maximum speed to the limit to address the shortcomings from the previous jump test.

SCR Pro can jump after tune?

He first prepared a reinforced chassis as a tuning part for the jumps.

According to him, the Smith Master’s option parts are quite expensive, but they boast excellent quality and durability.

He also praised them as being on the same level as the pro-kit products used by RC car racers.

He used a reinforced chassis designed to be 1mm thicker than the stock version and replaced the ball links with shorter versions.

The difference from the stock parts may not be significant, but this small change greatly affects the vehicle’s balance.

Let’s enjoy the review.

What is the key to tuning the Smith Master SCR?

We focus on tuning the maximum speed and jump capabilities of the Smith Master SCR.

We equip it with a reinforced chassis that matches the level of pro-kit products used by RC car racers due to its robust quality and durability.

The reinforced chassis is designed to be 1mm thicker than the stock version, making a significant difference in rigidity.

We also change the ball links to a shorter version to affect the vehicle’s balance.

Although it might be hard to notice the difference, if you want to jump, it’s recommended to switch to the short version.

For dispersing impact on the ground during jumps, the short version ball links are better than the long version, and you’ll need metal shocks or reinforced springs.

Lowering the shock dial to the maximum for absorbing impact is specifically for jumps.

It’s not suitable for driving.

We have completed the optimized setup for jumps.

Results of the strength test of the XCR body?

We used the XCR body for the vehicle and went into real-life tests to evaluate the strength of the main chassis.

The chassis did not bend while performing jumps similarly to last time.

How to improve vehicle performance?

Despite being larger and heavier than other 1/5 scale vehicles from other companies, the reinforced chassis held up surprisingly well.

With some tuning and a reinforced chassis, you can enjoy jumps using an FRP jump ramp, but inefficient and costly tuning is not recommended.

Next, we plan to challenge tuning for maximum speed.

Methods and effects of tuning to increase maximum speed?

we will also work on tuning to increase the maximum speed.

First, I changed the pinion gear to the largest size this vehicle can use.

Honestly, this part was a bit disappointing because the stock size is 18T, and the maximum size is only 22T, so we can’t expect a dramatic speed improvement.

Lastly, I changed the wheels and tires. The stock tires are soft and optimized for off-road, so they are not suitable for on-road speed use.

so, tuning is recommanged?

Tuning to increase maximum speed can be done easily by anyone at a very low cost.

However, finding a place where you can enjoy it freely is challenging.

If you have a large, open space nearby where you can use it without worrying about people, I would definitely recommend this tuning.
