This time, we conducted the experiment.

It would be difficult to enjoy high jumps, but the manufacturer said it is possible, so I decided to test it.

The reason I said it would be difficult without trying in my review video is because the vehicle is quite heavy, and the shocks seemed a bit short compared to its weight and size.

Additionally, the lack of a support to brace the center was a major factor. Given the SCR’s body structure that covers the entire wheels, I judged that high jumps would be difficult.

The SCR body structure causes the wheel housings to touch the wheels when the suspension is fully compressed. If strong impacts are added to this, it is hard to avoid damage to the body.

However, the body issue can be easily resolved. Since the SCR body is combined with a roll cage, you can simply remove the body and use only the roll cage to solve the problem.

However, it might be a bit cumbersome due to the number of bolts you need to loosen. For reference, you don’t need to loosen the four bolts combined with nuts, so keep that in mind.

What solutions were discovered through the jump test?

We confirmed through the experimental results that the SCR body solution can overcome the difficulties of high jumps.

The vehicle body reinforced with a roll cage is safely protected and can jump freely without interference with the body.

If you purchase the XCR body, you can use it without cumbersome tasks, and it is an open structure suitable for various uses, including jumps.

The vehicle must be controllable when jumping and tumbling.

Durability is important, and there should be no damage during a normal landing.

Due to the vehicle’s weight, it may not fly far, but it should be controllable for safe and stable jumps.

Damage to the ESC fan due to jumps is unrelated to durability, but it is better to remove it in advance for enjoyment.

Rear drive shaft pin loss requires reinforcement, which can be solved by securing with an O-ring.

The front diff drive pin issue can be resolved with thread lock and regular checks are recommended.

The Smithmaster vehicle is highly durable, so checking parts is important.

Methods to strengthen the main frame’s durability and testing

There is no device to withstand the impact at the center, causing cumulative damage and gradual bending.

It holds up well even without anything in the rust, but if it bends, the body post position changes, making body installation difficult.

We are exploring ways to enhance durability by testing the main frame with an optional frame.

By improving the structure and adding supports to the center, attaching the front and rear can increase jump durability, but it may restrict flexible movements.
