Observations from Initial Testing of Smith Master SR Pro

Testing the Smith Master SR Pro With the Hobbywing combo is ongoing, and it initially seems promising, especially with the included sensor. Some maintenance issues have been noticed, specifically a lack of oil in certain bearings, requiring attention. The equipment performs differently in reverse, and these changes significantly impact the driving experience and handling. There is a noteworthy improvement in steering, though participants are advised to be cautious during testing. The ability to dismantle parts such as the rear pin facilitates repairs and maintenance without needing to replace entire components, although it presents challenges of the parts detaching unexpectedly.

Issues with Cardan Pins

The cardan pins have been problematic, as one unexpectedly detached but was fortunately found inside the chassis. The cardan pin purchased from Bricovis are considered a failure and not the right choice. The material of the cardan pins are subpar, which has been previously discussed. The specific material of the pins cannot be recalled, but there is a plan to reorder them in steel for improved durability.Additional steel pins were already ordered for LIF, providing a backup supply.
